Gone.

All day today (actually, more like for the past few weeks), I feel like there's something just in the periphery, like I'm catching movement in the corner of my eye. I turn around, expecting to see either the cat stalking pass, a spider on the wall or a bird flying by. But there's been nothing there. It's strangely disconcerting.

Someone once told me those movements are your angels. Just subtly letting you know they're there, that they're watching over you.

I find that a bit comforting.

A new week

This morning I was supposed to get up early (on my day off!) to take my grandmother to the hospital. Apparently, she needs to get her heart 'kick-started'. When she called the hospital to check her appointment time, some halfwitted person says to her, all casual-like, "Oh, no, not today. We cancelled your appointment on Friday. Your blood count is too low."

Thanks for telling the 81-year old that she didn't need to worry herself sick all weekend.

Grr. It makes me so angry. My nana is just the sweetest person I know and I feel so bad for her, that she stressed herself out for no good reason at all.

On the bright side, I was forced to get up early. I'm such a stay-up-late-sleep-in-late kind of girl, but getting up early meant a start on some assignments and three loads of washing already done. Getting so much accomplished makes me wonder why I insist on forcing myself to stay awake until my eyelids literally cannot stay open.

So, I think now, after I finish watching this video on Adele Parks from the fantastic site Novelicious, full of guilty pleasure-reading, I'm going to make myself a coffee and curl up on the couch to read some more of my book.

Sunday

Today, I slept in. It's nearly lunchtime and I'm still in my pyjamas (I'm just about to take a shower, I promise!).

I'm going to spend the rest of the day reading my book - something light and easy to read, The Dating Detox. Tonight, I'm going to watch The Biggest Loser finale, as well as Bones and Castle.

Life could be worse, no?

My office doesn't have a chair

This is where I do all of my blog-stalking, university assignments, procrastinating, sleep-walking and sleep-talking.

It's pretty comfy.

I work as a receptionist at a real estate agency on a Saturday and when I get into work, the flowers at reception are pretty well dead, having spent a whole week in the sun. as well as being subjected to the office air conditioning. Dead flowers always depress me.

I had to go into work today for three hours and Saturday's dead flowers were still there. Being dead and depressing. At about 12pm, the florist came to swap them for some fresh ones. But instead of a lovely bouquet, it was a pot full of leaves and some brown stuff. I'm sure it's all very arty, but it's just not pretty.

Wouldn't it be so much nicer to have these beauties at reception? I know they make me happy, just looking at the photos.

Rainy

I woke up in the middle of the night. Everything was dark. I was so comfortable. I could hear rain. Smiling to myself, I snuggled down into the bed and drifted off to sleep again.

Friday!

Well, kids. It's Friday. The end of another week and the start of the weekend. For some, anyway. I work on Saturdays, so my weekend doesn't start until Saturday evening. It's also the only day I work, so not so bad :) I do go to university for three days as well, so it's not as if I'm lounging around all day...

Anyway.

This is my first post! Yay! I'm not really sure what direction I want this blog to take, but I think it is going to be about things that make me happy. I already have a blog where I can piss and moan about what's not 100% so I'd like this one to be a bit different to that.
