Feeling a bit emo. I’ve been thinking I should be blogging about my trip to Vietnam but I can’t. Maybe I’m in some kind of post-holiday funk. Vietnam was beautiful and crazy and overwhelming and chaotic, and it had its ups and downs. When I came back home, the seasons had changed and there was a feeling about that even more had changed but I didn’t know exactly what. I’m still not sure I do.
I started back at uni this week, two weeks after everyone else. I feel like lectures are being given in a language I don’t understand. Just another two more weeks to go and we’re on mid-semester break.
My life feels ridiculous.
Post holiday slump is perfectly understandable and missing two weeks can be pretty hard, but I think (hope) that you look back and are great you had the amazing experiences you did (and the photos looked incredible - I was quite jealous).
ReplyDeleteGood luck - things often seem better after reading week. xx
I find it depressing after a holiday; real life can just be a bit tooo real at times...
ReplyDeleteWould love to hear all about your trip when you have time! xox
i find it's the crash after the high but even knowing that doesn't really help.
ReplyDeleteuni will sort itself out, you're a smart cookie and you'll catch up in no time, it's just the transition from holiday to real life that probably makes it feel overwhelming.
when you're up for it, tell us all about your trip, we'd love to hear stories and see pics!
I agree with the above - holidays can leave us feeling a bit tired and flat, especially the kind of hol you've just had, where there is so much to see and do. Getting back into the swing just takes time. I'll give you the advice I give to my daughters: Get plenty of sleep, eat well ... and plan the next break, even if it's a weekend away, somewhere closer to home, but a bit of a change of scenery. Having something to look forward to is such an emotional boost, I find.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing about your trip, when you're up to it. Take care. x

ReplyDeleteYou're out of sync but you'll get it back my friend :)

I hate that feeling like something is out of sorts and you just can't figure out what it is. Hopefully, things will clear up soon.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I dreamed about you last night. I was on some sort of vacation and you and a few other girls were there. I pointed out that I had been there a week and still not seen the beach. And then you just stepped right in and announced that we would have a picnic at such and such place on the beach, pronto. :)
i think we all go through little funks like this and it does feel ridiculous. but hopefully it will all turn around soon!
ReplyDeletei´am very good at sleeping as well.
